The guru-sishya relationship came alive when Maharajapuram Santhanam and his son and disciple Maharajapuram Ramachandran performed for Tapas Academy displaying excellence in the way they succeeded in engaging the audience till the last.

Father and son were appreciated for the way they presented the essence of carnatic music through various ragas.

Beginning with begada varnam of Veena Kuppier, the vocalist continued with raga mohana-kalyani with elaborate kalpana swaras.

When the junior maestro sang his father’s favourite kirtan, neevaada ney gana, he left the audience spellbound and gained a lot of appreciation.
